Be one of the first to try a new experience at the beautiful Chartreuse du Domaine Saint Esprit hotel, an easy hour’s drive from Calais. Drive into the gates and be swept of your feet by the old world charm of this domaine and the warm, attentive welcome of its team. Enjoy a drink in the bar and a stroll in the grounds including the enormous potager (you may run into the chef selecting your dinner veg!).

Evening comes and you will be met at the bar by the sommelier for a unique private wine tasting immersion. Improve your knowledge on French regions and varieties and of course let yourselves be guided in a selection to accompany your meal.

Head into the magnificent dining room, where you will enjoy the “menu gastronomique” in the Le Robert II. Five succulent courses including of course an incredible cheese trolley with a huge selection of local and well-known cheeses (over 20!). Dessert is also served on a trolley so you can witness the creations of the pastry chef before choosing!

The next day, add a visit to the Louvre Lens museum to your agenda, only a 20 minute drive, or if you wish to stay more local, visit the swath of upcoming micro-breweries and fromageries in the area. Everything tastes better when it comes from the source! This is the perfect area for a quiet drive or long walk taking in the French countryside.
