For one year only, visitors to France’s horse capital, Chantilly in the heart of Picardy an hour north of Paris, can watch the world’s greatest horse race on the city’s famous racecourse 1st & 2nd October.
Traditionally run at Longchamp in Paris, the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe brings together the most talented thoroughbreds aged three and over from the best racing stables around the world in a race covering one and a half miles.
Chantilly is the perfect place to watch this prestigious event. This delightful town became the capital of the art of equestrianism thanks to the passion of Henri d’Orléans, Duke of Aumale, for horses.
