You’ll love:
- The chateau and its grounds at the heart of nature
- Unlimited use of your own private hot tub for all the family
- Marshmallows to toast outside!
- A whole host of things to do with the family in Saint Quentin - just 10 minutes away by car
For quality family time, nothing quite beats a stay tucked away at the heart of nature - somewhere the children get to enjoy a freeing feeling of space, and you get the precious chance to unwind in complete comfort after a long drive. That perfect place is Domaine de Vadancourt’s meadowside wooden lodge, a spacious yet cosy cabin where owners Caroline and Gaëtan have thought of every last thing a family might want or need, even marshmallows to toast outside on the fire pit. The trump card of course is the hot tub on your terrace - fun for the whole family, but even more special under the stars with a glass of fizz once the kids are tucked up in bed!
The stylish interior - both rustic and contemporary with fairy lights to add extra feel-good factor - has open-plan living space including 2 sleeping areas: one with a double bed on the ground floor and one with twin beds on a mezzanine level accessible by ladder. Rather blissfully, there’s no wifi at the lodge (don’t worry, there’s wifi at the chateau if you need it) which provides the perfect opportunity to detach from devices and enjoy family time instead: a rather large choice of films (500!), board games, books, outdoor toys, the chance to say hi to the donkeys and horses who live here, and perhaps a glimpse of deer too. If you like the sound of getting out on the lake, taking out a little rowing boat offers a unique vantage point to admire the estate - and if you get the chance, ask Gaëtan to let you in on the chateau’s secrets; its history is really rather intriguing - and guaranteed to leave you with a long-lasting feeling you’ve been somewhere truly special.
The icing on the cake is your ready-to-heat dine-in dinner (main course, dessert, wine and two children’s meals), completely eliminating the hassle of wondering what to do for dinner AND providing the opportunity to make the most of every last minute in the lovely lodge.
In the morning, after you’ve enjoyed the contents of the delicious breakfast hamper left for you on your terrace, head on out to explore the surrounding area. Saint-Quentin - with its famous art deco architecture, nature reserve, mini zoo and museum of yesteryear - is only a 10-minute drive away.
