In search of Black-Woodpecker in France
Even as a fairly large bird, the Black Woodpecker can be hard to find.
Join nature guide and bird photographer Jean-Michel Lecat, on a day dedicated to Woodpecker.
Knowing the area like the back of his hand, Jean-Michel will do his best to find Black Woodpecker, Lesser Spotted and Middle Spotted Woodpecker all in a day.
You are also likely to enjoy Blue throat, Honey Buzzard, Goshhawk, Hen Harrier, Hobby and many other specialties.
Finish the day back at the B&B on Jean-Michel’s property, dedicated to attracting birdlife, and where Great Spotted Woodpecker is seen often in his garden.
1/2 day with your guide Jean-Michel Lecat – birdwatching and nature guide, nature photographer and local Somme Bay resident.
Option: Complete the experience by staying in the B&B on Jean-Michel’s property, which has been completely designed to attract birdlife (with hides!). Great-Spotted Woodpecker is often seen, as well as Kingfisher, Little Egret and many other species (over 80 to be exact). https://maraisdelaviers-baiedesomme.com/
