The Somme Bay, a stone’s throw from Calais, is renowned for its magnificent scenery, ever-changing light and range of bird species.
2018 dates to be confirmed
A haven for nature photographers! Opportunities to take shots of specialist species are plentiful in the Somme Bay. We will start our day around the reedbeds at Noyelles-sur-Mer to where we will aim to photograph Bluethroat, among other sought-after species. The tour can be adapted to the wishes of the party members but we will definitely make the most of the Marquenterre nature reserve where photographing White Stork, Spoonbill and other large wading birds, often at close-range, is a thrilling experience.
The aim of the tour is to search out the best photography opportunities meaning the format of the tour will be adapted to light on the day.
Privatised access to the Parc du Marquenterre is also included.
Your tour will be led by Alexander Hiley – Ornithologist, nature photographer and local Somme Bay resident.
