If you are heading towards the south of France of Spain following the atlantic coast, you will pass through some of Northern France's most beautiful areas. First, you will discover the Opal Coast. If you have not visited the Somme bay, this is a good opportunity. Named as one of Frances 10 natural wonders, it is an ever changing landscape of colour with the changing tides not to mention home to diverse wildlife. The Parc du Marquenterre Bird Park in the Somme Bay is a natural haven for hundreds of species of bird as it sits on the migration path. Arras is well worth a visit for its famous squares, belfry and Wellington tunnels.

If you are heading to or back from the French Mediterranean coast, or even the Alps, using the A26 motorway, you will be passing through Saint Quentin in Northern France just near Reims. The small town of Saint Quentin has incredible Art Deco architecture, and a very pretty center square.
