You’ll love:
- Forest walks and horseriding on the doorstep

- The option to order dine-in meals
One of Manoir de la Cour’s most memorable aspects will be the sense of history you get from the moment you cross the threshold; after all, its first stones were laid in the 1500s! But alongside features like period furniture, chestnut parquet flooring, and a spiral staircase at the family-friendly gite, there’s also a striking sense of modern comfort and a layout designed with gatherings of family and friends in mind. The children will love the top level (‘le pigeonnier’, or dovecote) with its beds under the eaves, and on the ground floor, there’s a huge living space for games, aperitifs, and just hanging out together. Little touches have already been taken care of, like the beds made up for your arrival and end-of-stay cleaning, all helping to make your stay as smooth and relaxing as possible.
How you organise meals during your stay is always the top priority when it comes to a big group. To get you started there’s a welcome hamper of breakfast goodies including brioche, honey, locally produced apple juice, 'Jardins de Marie' jam (the same jam they have at the Elysée Palace, no less!), and Nespresso capsules. Eggs from the chicken coop are available to guests too. The well-equipped kitchen lends itself to family and friends feasting, or, if you have a firm ‘no cooking’ policy when you’re away (and who could blame you?), let the fantastic local restaurant "Le Kiosque de Bacchus", just 5km away, do the heavy lifting. Order up an eyepopping seafood feast for 12, or there’s wood-fired pizzas and homemade burgers; the only thing you have to do is collect it!
And it’s not just a family-friendly gite but a family-friendly area too, with plenty of things to do locally to keep all the generations entertained. Why not go riding as a group; there’s a stables right next door! Or for e-biking in the forest, just head to the nearby Abbaye de Longpont to hire bikes. You might be tempted to seek out the ‘Tour Mangin’ tower, a 245-metre WW1 observation tower that you can walk up, or there’s the Donjon de Vez, not just a medieval fortress, but a contemporary arts venue too. Just 20 minutes away there’s the chateau of all chateaux - fairytale Pierrefonds, the filming set for many a TV series and movie, or a day out in Paris awaits, just 1 hour away! Whatever you decide to do, we’re pretty sure this part of France will surpass everyone’s expectations.
