And the great thing about Le Touquet is that all’s not lost if the weather’s not playing ball, as you’ll see if you tackle the 274 steps of Le Touquet’s lighthouse, or head to the sea-and-fishing visitor centre ‘Maréis’ in Etaples, where you will be shown around by a real fisherman! A little further afield there’s also Europe’s largest and most impressive aquarium ‘Nausicaa’, with immersive insight into the planet’s oceans and a staggering 36,000 sea creatures to observe including sharks to wow the children.

Back in Le Touquet, make lipsmacking family memories at Kokoa ice cream or shop till you drop at the designer boutiques, artisan stores and Le Touquet’s bustling Saturday morning market. Visit Le Touquet

During your stay, don’t miss a trip to the market or a visit to Canche lighthouse, where you can learn about the history of lighthouses as well as that of Le Touquet-Paris Plage resort. A must-see for art-lovers is the museum in the heart of Le Touquet forest, in a 1930 dwelling  then named Villa Way Side. The museum houses more than 800 works by regional artists.
