Laon et le Laonnois

 

The “Montagne Couronnée”, the term used to refer to the cathedral, is the crown in the jewel made up of 80 listed buildings giving the city of Laon the status of the most protected town in France.

Further on you can see the wine-presses in their intimate gardens which pay tribute to the region’s wine-growing history.

Craonnelle wine is still produced here today, while at the Caverne du Dragon, guides pass on the respect of the memory of the soldiers who lost their lives at the Chemin des Dames.
